Travel and
Instrument Insurance
We
recommend that everyone travelling takes out their own travel insurance
policy for the tour. This will typically cover you against property
theft, flight cancellation and medical treatment costs (see also EHIC
section below). We can offer a group insurance policy at competitive
rates. Please contact
us to ask for insurance details.
If you have the Werneth Concert Band instrument insurance you will not
need to apply for any extra instrument insurance cover for foreign
travel.
If you have your own instrument insurance you should make sure that it
covers you abroad and in particular that it covers your instrument in
transit or when left in a locked vehicle.
EHIC Card
Medical treatment is not free of charge in Europe. However, UK citizens
carrying an EHIC card are entitled to receive free emergency treatment.
This card replaces the old E111 form which is now no longer valid.
EHIC Card
We strongly recommend that everyone takes an EHIC card on this tour.
More information can be found on the Department
of Health website or in the EHIC form you can pick
up at the Post Office.
You can apply for your EHIC
on-line and it arrives within seven days. You'll need the
name and date of birth of each person to be covered and his/her NHS or
national insurance (NI) number.
Or, call 0845 606 2030 and have the information listed above ready.
When your application is completed, your card will be delivered within
10 days.
Or, to apply by post, pick up the EHIC form and pre-addressed envelope
from the Post Office. Your card will be delivered within 21 days. For a
nominal fee, the Post Office will check your completed application form
and forward it for processing. This service is optional.
